Slides & Ladders & Dares

I have posted a new game (my first).

This game is similar to the US game of Chutes & Ladders or the UK game of Snakes & Ladders. However, every square that does not contain a Slide or a Ladder contains a Simple Dare that you must do before continuing.

The design intent is to keep all dares simple & within everyone’s limits.

"Hold a coin against the wall with your nose."
Some sugestions. You can make some events random with pick a card or something. You can make the timeouts like coin against wall more daring with put hand behind head, hold to sides or behind back or put feet apart or put feet way from wall to stick butt out or kneel on peas or something.

I look a little in your script and found the shuffle functoin. You can shuffle a list with Collections -> Collections.shuffle(aList)

There are actually 2 different squares that are hold a coin against the wall with your nose.

Good suggestion.

An optional built in timer is on my wish list for a future version. But, if optional, should the default be to use the built-in timer or to use your own?

Great fun game, would be best to have a built in timer as the default if you are able to add that feature.

I have uploaded v1.1 of Slides & Ladders & Dares.

The biggest change is that a built-in timer is now present. The user has the choice of using it or continuing to use their own timer.

Other enhancements include:
- The user may now select the implement for the spanking squares or specify a list of implements and let the computer select one (click Config; then click Implements)
- On the opening screen, the number of times you started the game and aborted it before completing it will now be displayed
- Count of number of times played can now be reset to zero
- Some new pictures have been added; some pictures have been removed
- Several dares have been rephrased to make the meaning clearer
- One dare has been modified

Many other minor changes have been made.

Very nice update! It seems much better balanced somehow.
Really glad with the built-in timer, in my opinion indeed necessary for a much better playing experience.

Also very happy with the status at the opening screen!

Actually, I was a while ago surprised, there are some spanking squares. Perhaps you should have a tag included for that and this script had certainly draw my attention much earlier. I remember playing it a long time ago for the first time and probably I was very lucky that time, receiving no spanking at all.

I miss the opportunity to have a choice to complete a dare or not sometimes.
Square 22 is such a one, I really would like to opt out of this dare whatever the consequences are!
There are more squares with dares I prefer to fail or opt out instead of doing them but it’s your choice to say ‘failing is not an option’.

Overall, it’s a nice script, well done and certainly now interesting to play more then only a few times.

Oh, and I really hate to see a male spanker. Can I avoid that by simply deleting that picture or will that cause an error in the script? Or did you already changed this in the update? I just remember I got this once playing in version 1.0

Since there is an option to examine the squares, you can easily find that there are 3 spanking squares. I did not really consider this a spanking game as you may miss them all (as you did previously).

I knew I wanted a built-in timer but was not sure how hard it would be to program. I was more interested in releasing a first game. I made the timer work in Stay and used what I learned for this update.

Deleting a picture will cause an error.

I wanted a male spanker for those that preferred it. But, the male spanker picture is rather wide and limited the amount of text. It was replaced in this version. So far, this was the only male spanker picture I have found that I liked.

If you saw the male spanker in v1.0, you must have landed on at least one spanking square.

When you started SexScripts initially, you specify if you like males or females or both. This game adjusts some of the pictures based on your answers. As I build new games, I often wonder how many people prefer male pictures. Are they worth including?

Slides & Ladders & Dares v1.2 is now available.

For martlb … For Square 22 and several other squares, failure is now an option. The game will specify a penalty if you are unable or unwilling to complete the dare.

A concept of penalty points has been added. If you fail to do certain dares, there is both a penalty and you earn penalty points. Some later dares become harder based on the number of penalty points.

If you land on square 7 after you have removed all of your clothes, a message of “Error null” will occur. This has been fixed.

Several new pictures have been added.

I have played the new Slides & Ladders & Dares several times now.
I’m really glad with the new addition, the possibility to choose to be unwilling to do some dares.
Also selecting and directing a spanking implement sure is a good addition.
I didn’t encounter any problems. Seems to me a perfect game to play now.
Not too easy, not too hard. Very well done!

Slides & Ladders & Dares v1.3 is now available.

In the previous version, the number of penalty points was not displayed. The symbol ☠ will now appear as many times as the number of penalty points.

Several distances were expressed in feet. They are now expressed in both feet and meters.

A spelling error has been corrected.

Several pictures have been added or replaced.

Several instructions have been re-worded.

Several other changes have been made.

Hi, I have tested your v1.3 version. Not bad so far. Since English is my 2nd language, something was not not quite clear. Are tokens (skull symbols) earned for fails the same as penalty points? Once I got 2 penalty points while only one token (skull) was displayed close to the end (square 54).
Next problem: How to remove the token and going back to square 29 as described? There is no "Go back to square 29" button on square 54. Just the "Finsih" and "Help" button. And the token or skull is no button to click on. Hope you can help.

There are two separate concepts. There are penalty points (represented by a skull - ☠). You earn one each time you fail to do a dare. Certain dares are made harder for each skull penalty point as punishment. It does not send you back to square 29.

There is a token (represented by ♟). You can only earn one. It is earned for doing too well and not losing enough clothes. It sends you back to square 29.

I think you are confusing these 2 separate concepts.

This game was originally written to be played on paper. Details of each square is very open. All squares show a full description of the square. On most screens during the game, the far right button can be used to examine all of the squares.

Now, I see. Thanks for explaining. I have tested the script again, and when there is a token for doing too well (♟ ) on square 54 the "Go to 29" button" will show up and work. And the skull symbol ☠ indicates the number of penalty points earned. BTW, do penalty points only affect spanking or other dares, too?

As for square 19 there should be a button to stop this task as well. I think people are rather unable or unwilling to slide themselves forward on their stomach for 20 ft, (if they care about their clothes getting stretched or dirty / ok, that girl for square 19 is a funny exception, nice pick! :D than being unable or unwilling to stretch out their tongue for a minute. If at all, a "failed" button should be missing there (unless a dare with a ball gag was part of the game)

Writing lines should also be possible within the game itself by typing them in a text-field just like in other "Lines" scripts here. So, the script can check if and how properly this task was performed, A time limit can be optional.
The real pen & paper task can be kept for all who like to invest more time and effort or have a partner to check a sheet. Ever thought about making S & L & D at least a 2-player game, since the original board game for all ages is a multiplayer one?

As for the phrase: "I will not forget my password." - the first question coming to mind is "Which one?" - perhaps the game should ask for or suggest one at some point (editable pw-list in the script) - e.g., a new pronouncable pw would will be given at the end of each game after clicking the "Finish" button to be remembered next time for square 18 only - if you get on it. Something mean(ingful) or funny. "... my password dumbass, etc) :D
Still knowing and entering your pw there will make this task shorter than usual. The fun about it is, if a player did not come to square 18 again for let's say the third time - he like most people will not think of or have forgotten which pw the game provided the last time at the end, for instance a week ago. Thus, the game statistics had a little influence on the experience.
Until then any player can edit that phrase in the script easily and add any pw of choice.
OK. so much for now.
