I have a few of questions -

1. How long does it take to get your "to be released" photo approved?

2. Can the photo be submitted, approved and then chastity started at a later date? Or is the picture released if chastity is never started after a certain time?

3. Where will the photo be released and for how long?

good questions all,

currently no fails are posted, this decision was taken to ensure there were no 'bugs' in the first month or so.
we are now coming up to that time and when it does go 'live' there will be a new version released to make it very clear, anyone starting the script before that date that doesn't finish before we go live will not be published and may continue.

once all that happens the answers to your questions will be:
1)this runs at the same time as the other validations at roughly 00:00 GMT daily (i say roughly as there is a time delay built in after each check so as not to bombard the server with requests as there are about 40 current players),that is unless your image is flagged for manual validation, in which case it could be as late as 5am GMT

2) currently you have 24 hours (again until 00:00 GMT) to begin however I can add in a deferred lock time if that would be useful

3)the release site is https://fetlife.com/groups/128916, as for time, that has not been decide yet! any thoughts?

EDIT: you know what, question 2 is a good point, a deferred option will be in the next release.

I was looking through the script because I was curious and I noticed something a little weird with your random session length logic. I don't know if this is on purpose, but the farther your minimum length is from zero, the more likely you are to get it.

This is because when you generate the random number, it creates a random number between 0 and the max. Everything less than or equal to the min will be set to the min.

For example, if you had a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10, you would have a 50% chance of getting the minimum because getting 0-5 will get you the minimum. A sugestion

Assuming this wasn't intentional, here's a solution for it:

start_time = getRandom(max_time-min_time)+min_time

Also, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think the probability of winning the number game is actually higher on hard than on normal. Assuming you're using a binary search (which is the best way to play the game), the maximum number of guesses before winning is [log2 N] + 1 where N is the highest number. So, the max number of guesses for each level is:
easy/normal: 10.97
hard: 14.29
And this is the difference between the number of guesses given and the number of guesses needed:
easy: 1.97
normal: 2.97
hard: 2.28
I think this would mean that you would be more likely to win with hard than normal, right?

***update 03/01/16***

as of today the script is not taking new submissions.
this does not affect those currently playing!

the reason for this is that I will admit it has gotten to the point where to actually get it to where it needs to be it needs a bit of work (which is under way).

I am expecting to open up again by the end of the month.

if you have any suggestions as to the development of this script then now is the time to ask!

just as an aside, to date there have been 781 completions (passes and fails).

ok so I missed my end of month deadline a while ago.

apologies, a change of job, location and a new relationship kind of slowed me down.

I think I am now where I want to be in terms of knowing what v2.0 of the script will do (having listened to some constructive feedback).

I would say i'm no more than 2 weeks away from a new release but wanted to just see if there were any new suggestions anyone wanted to make before I start to test.

The main script for users is actually complete, but I still have some adjustments to do on the back end. Last time with the first version of the script, I released it to test and although it worked we never really got out of test phase and the feedback (whilst very positive) proved impossible to implement without redoing the script in a way that would have meant stopping those already playing. I now have a working script that can be modified and updated without kicking anyone's session. I am planning a bit of a coding session this evening and tomorrow and you could (no promises) see an uploaded 'finished' product early Friday.
