Program to read scripts out loud?

nitew0126 [ Mon Jul 16, 2012 4:48 am ]

I like this software, but I was wondering if there were a text reader or some program that will work with this? I've tried 5 so far and nothing. I think the scripts would be so much better if they were read out loud...more realistic in a way.

Any ideas?

Well SexScripts is quite average in this, this is Swing interface without frills. Can you tell me a typical text reader that I should use to check about this ?

Hi, not sure if this will help but I use a tts program simply named 'TTS Reader'. It is fairly small in size (and free), but I am not sure how it could be incorporated into Sex Scripts.
I have used this for a few Erotic Hypnosis files that I posted on warpmymind.com (as well as many personal Erotic Hypnosis files) and it is what I used for My Mother and Daughters Script on this site. Might be possible.

I have also recently been using a program called Virtual Hypnotist, which has a built in tts program, and also can add pauses and questions if needed. It may be worth while messaging the Dev's of this to see if they can help with it.

These tts readers do rely on the end user having a decent set of voices to use with them though. The voices are separate to the reader program. Some are much better than others, but they are improving all the time.

All the text to speech and screen readers I've tried only work by copy and paste. There was one that seemed like it MAY work, Verbose Text To Speech. I don't know anything about code or the kind, so I'm not sure if there is a way to get this program to read yours without do copy and paste.

Ok ; in the new release of today, I added to things :
- you may copy to clipboard the current text with Ctrl+C
- text may be copied automatically to the clipboard - see in the option menu

I tested it with verbose Text To Speech (adding in it a system-wide-hot-key), with success. Please let me know if that do the trick, and which solution above you prefer.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong, but I can't find a copy text automatically in either options menu?

Edit: I clicked on "about" in the exe I just downloaded, and it still says I'm using July 21 version.

I made a mistake in deployment. This should be ok now, the current version is the good one.

Hello,

I am new in this forum, and I have to say that I am really amazed by the work you have done.

That would be really great to have a speaking function, allowing more fun for the blindfolded scripts for example...

I have found out that on Mac OSX, a simple "say Hello" in the terminal would read it out. You just need to change the default voice in the preference panel to choose a better one.

I just tried on the Wetdream script to add this functionality.
Just add a line at every show() function:

Code:
show("Strip and get on your knees.") //original
("say Strip and get on your knees.").execute() //added

The best way would be to activate this directly in the "show" function (and others that display text).

I am interested to do it. Doti, would it be possible to have the sources?

Thank you,

Regards

Thank you, good idea.

I'm sorry, it is not something that should be done, as it is too much a security fault, and it will work in a quite limited bunch of machines (say OS X and some GNU/Linux distributions). Actually, as I know, in Windows, it crashes.

Let me know if the current feature (autocopy in clipboard) is somewhat usefull on OS X

I'll quickly send you the source code.

Actually, I have found out how to take benefit of the automatic copy feature:

In OSX, run the Apple Automator application.
Create a new service.

Create a service with a Terminal script, like that:

Code:
my_tmp=$(pbpaste)
while true; do
   if [[ "$my_tmp" != "$(pbpaste)" ]]; then
      my_tmp=$(pbpaste)
      pbpaste|say
     fi
   sleep 1;
done

Save it, close Automator.

Then, open SS, click on the automatic copy, run a script, and go to the service option of the application, like that:

Ta-da, it reads out loud what is written in the script.
Maybe you will need to reload the script in order to make it work properly...

Don't forget to change the voice in the System Preferences in order to match your tastes ;-)

Cheers

I recently too had the idea that texts or commands should be spoken by Master/Mistress. My simple solution is
www.fromtexttospeech.com, it's free to use. You can chose two female and two male voices. Create mp3 file and let it play with playBackgroundsound("filename.mp3").

I started using "simple tts reader" for this and it works pretty well most of the time.

I haven't been able to figure out why running the discipline clinic script while using this causes sexscripts to crash sometimes though. the setup hasn't made it crash for other scripts though so I'm not sure what exactly is causing it.
