Hi everyone,
As many of you already know, the SexScripts website and server will be shut down at the end of April 2026. Thank you to the devs for all the years of fun we’ve had.
For those who want to keep using their own scripts (or continue creating new ones), I’ve been testing Ren'Py as an alternative. It’s completely free, offline, and runs on Windows (and Mac/Linux).
What it can do (very similar to SexScripts):

Show images
Display text / instructions
Menus and buttons
User input (text, yes/no, etc.)
Timers / forced waits
Sound and video
Persistent saves (names, photos, progress, blackmail material, etc.)

The big difference is that you have to convert your Groovy scripts to Ren'Py syntax. It’s not 1:1, but with AI help (like Grok or ChatGPT) it’s very doable. Many of the core commands (show image, pause, menu, input) are quite straightforward once you get the hang of it.

If anyone is interested it would be grfeat of we could fins a place to store and share scripts?. I’m not a professional programmer — I’m learning as I go, just like most of us here- but I'm working an a script similar to Mandys Blackmail.
Would be cool if some of the old scripters could try it and share their experiences.

A technical question for script life after the site shutdown

I have a number of scripts that I'd like to keep using from this site. I expect most scripts are offline and don't connect to the server, so they'll keep working.

So is the existing script future-proofing issue just to do with Java versions, as the main SexScripts.exe will no longer be updated?

And if so, it is possible to fix that somehow, e.g. to make SexScripts run with a legacy java version for those scripts, and if so what is an east way to set that up?

SexScripts will continue to work, though, and the source is available. I certainly aim to find a way to make sure people can still download it and (at least) my own scripts.

I like the idea of perhaps a new alternative, but RenPy is very much intended more for visual novel presentations, IMO. Some scripts would be a good fit, but some less so, I feel. Personally, I would like to see someone else take up the source code of SS.
